Step Back For The New Jack Swing #1

He was a bit ugly and couldn't quite sing, but Al B Sure! somehow was an overnight sensation at the end of the 1980's. Perhaps it was the Teddy Riley production and/or in the case of our featured song, the apperance of Slick Rick that caught the attention of the masses. It was one of the first tracks that combined R&B and Rap on the same record, and as such broke new ground, paving the way for the progression of this genre throughout the 90's and beyond. Al B followed up his debut single with the smash hit "Nite & Day", and "Off On Your Own Girl" but never quite hit these dizzy heights again with future projects.
